Welcome to the home of a research center with over 19 years of experience with clinical dermatology trials. With offices in the South Texas Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, we are easily accessible by patient volunteers and representatives from study sponsor companies. Free parking is ample and access to the building is easy.
Ethnic diversity, presence of a large retirement population, and a rapid rate of family growth make San Antonio an excellent place in which to do clinical research studies. In addition to common dermatological disorders, such as acne and psoriasis, San Antonio has a large population affected by heat and sunlight related disorders, including, skin cancers and pre-cancerous growths, fungal infections and seasonal dermatitis.
Our three physicians and two physician assistants have a general dermatology practice with over 20,000 patient files. A diagnosis-coded data base helps us reach enrollment targets in a timely fashion.
Patients are recruited using this database, newspaper and radio advertisements, and focused advertising to selected groups such as high school students, industry employees, and health care providers. We also mail newsletters to patients, keeping them abreast of our current research studies.
Compliance and completion rates for our studies are high. Enrollment and completion rates typically meet or exceed sponsor requirements, and we are often asked to enroll more than our original quota to help the sponsor reach its national goals.
